Good magistrates a great blessing. A discourse on those words of the Apostle St. Paul. Rom. xiii. v. 4. For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the Sword in vain: For he is the Minister of God, a Revenger to execute Wrath upon him that doth Evil. In which discourse the respective and mutual duties of magistrates, lawyers, and others, are laid down. The Doctrines of Non-Resistance and Passive-Obedience are put in a clear Light. The Sovereign's Prerogative, and the Subjects Liberty and Property, with their due Limitations, asserted and maintain'd. And Peace and Charity, Love and Unity, affectionately recommended to all Persons. Previous to the abovesaid discourse, you have a large exordium, which includes a concise topographical account of the city of Gloucester for above a Thousand Years past, &c.
